Just Thoughts...{an excerpt}

God holds Himself to the truth of His word. So, every experience in our life,
physical or spiritual, should be judged by the infallible standard of God’s word
remembering that His ways, His thoughts are higher than ours. To many,
truth is relative and depends upon individual situations, circumstances,
beliefs and people. Truth is an attribute and the power of God the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is one of His divine titles. Jesus is and His
words are absolute truth! God does not have it in Him to be anything but
truth. God’s word is the index of reality: they show us things as they really
are, and as they will be for us in the future, according to whether we heed
God’s words to us or not. Truth is no longer on trial...it was sounded on the cross and trumpeted to heights above the heavens. Yet for God’s last day people there will be trials
of truth. We must inquire into and reason with all available evidence. Where
we lack competence Jesus sends the Holy Spirit. Many are being
overwhelmed with spiritual darkness. Costly results! Lacking knowledge,
discernment, insight, and understanding. It’s as though it is woven into the
fabric of the person’s being causing blindness and ignorance while forbidding
divine guidance. But there is yet a much worser condition...spiritual
voidness. Being formless and empty. No ability to respond. So consumed
that it renders a feeling of depletion, emptiness, disconnection from oneself,
others, as feeling far from God. Turning to God and praying, talking to
themselves rather than listening to themselves is a struggle that must be
fought.
It is a certainty that we are living in some of the most contesting days the
world has ever seen. We thank God who has given us a sound mind; He has
given us the promises of His Word; and He has given us the presence of His
Spirit. Never has there been a more crucial time for us to operate in faith and
to believe for a mighty move of God to take place on this earth! God has
revealed to His people a way to choose our thoughts and think things on
purpose. How to bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
We must make up our mind ahead of time what we will and won’t do. We
need to renew the mind every day by studying the word. The next time you
see a person asking for help maybe consider thinking about the wounds, the
hurt, and the pain they may be experiencing rather than what they might
have done or will do. Think about the shame they may be feeling under your
judgment. Maybe see Jesus looking at this person. Maybe think that this
person could have been you.
